Printable Saudi Arabia calendar 2027 with public holidays

A 2027 calendar for Saudi Arabia with Founding Day, National Day and the expected Eid holidays for the private or government sector, Hijri dates and a Friday and Saturday weekend. The PDF is made in your browser, and your entries are not saved or sent.

January for a calendar year; any other month gives 12 months from that month, for example a September to August school or club year.

Layout

Letter is the usual size in the US and Canada; A4 is used almost everywhere else.

Orientation
Week starts on
Color theme: Teal

Large print has bigger numbers and thicker lines. Ink saver prints outlines only, with no shaded boxes.

Hijri dates follow the Umm al-Qura calendar; local moon sighting can differ by a day. Ramadan and the Eids are marked as expected.

ISO 8601: weeks run Monday to Sunday and week 1 is the week with the year's first Thursday, so 1 to 3 January can be in week 52 or 53. US style: weeks run Sunday to Saturday and week 1 is the week with January 1.

More options

On pages with one month per page.

The working week of the holidays chosen (Monday to Friday unless the country has another weekend), minus the public holidays shown.

Worked out with Jean Meeus's astronomical formulas and checked against the US Naval Observatory. Dated in UTC, so in your time zone a date can be a day earlier or later.

Holiday names stay in English, their official names.

Saka dates follow the Indian National Calendar (in use since 22 March 1957): 1 Chaitra falls on 22 March, or 21 March in a leap year. Hijri or Saka, one at a time.

Your own events, picture and font

An event on 29 February that repeats every year is shown on 28 February in years that are not leap years.

No events yet. Events are printed in their day boxes.

    Import a calendar file (.ics)

The file is read on this device and never uploaded. Times are not printed; each event goes on its day in your time zone.

How to save a calendar file
    Google Calendar (on a computer)
Go to calendar.google.com. For one calendar: under My calendars, point to its name, select More, then Settings and sharing, then Export calendar (an .ics file). For all calendars: Settings, then Import and export, then Export (a .zip file; you can open the .zip here as it is). The phone app cannot export.
    Apple Calendar (on a Mac)
Click the calendar's name in the calendar list, then choose File, Export, Export, and save the .ics file. An iPhone or iPad cannot export a calendar file.
    Outlook (classic, on Windows)
Open the Calendar, select the calendar, then File, Save Calendar. Use More Options to choose the dates and detail, then Save.
    Outlook on the web
Settings, Shared calendars, Publish a calendar, then download the ICS link. Anyone with that link can see the calendar, so stop publishing it when you are done.

What is read: each event's title and date, all-day and timed events, events over several days (up to 31 days), and events that repeat daily, weekly, monthly or yearly, with their skipped and moved dates. Repeating events are added for last year to three years ahead. Not read: times, places, notes, reminders, and rare repeat rules (such as "the last weekday of the month"); for those only the first date is added and the list below says so.

    Photo or logo

Read on this device and never uploaded or remembered. Large photos are made smaller so the PDF stays small, and hidden camera details (such as location) are left out.

    Where
    Fit

The picture area is on pages with one month per page; a logo goes in the header of every page. Photos use more ink.

All three are free fonts (SIL Open Font License) and print the same as the preview.

Off unless you tick it. When ticked, your events and options are kept in this browser on this device only, never sent. Pictures are not kept. Untick it or select Clear to remove them.

Printed at the top, up to 60 characters.

Your entries are not saved or sent.

How to make your 2027 Saudi Arabia calendar

    1. Choose a layout. The whole year on one page, two pages, 4 or 3 months per page, or 12 monthly pages in landscape with large boxes to write in.
    2. Check the details. The calendar opens on A4 with the week starting on Sunday, Friday and Saturday shaded as the weekend, the Saudi Arabia public holidays shaded and listed under each month, and Hijri dates in each day's box. You can switch to Monday or Sunday, turn the Hijri dates off, pick another paper size (A3, A5, US Letter and more), one of seven color themes, black and white, large print or ink saver, and add a title.
    3. Select Download PDF. The PDF is made in your browser in a second or two. Nothing is uploaded, and your entries are not saved or sent.

The preview is drawn by the same layout as the PDF, so what you see is what prints. Print at Actual size (100%) so the margins stay true.

    Saudi Arabia public holidays 2027

Saudi law sets four public holidays a year. Founding Day and National Day are fixed by date. The two Eids follow the Hijri calendar, so their 2027 dates are expected dates from the Umm al-Qura calendar until the moon is sighted. The calendar has two lists: choose the one that matches your job under Holidays for.

    Private sector: 10 days off

    Date (2027)Public holiday
    Monday 22 FebruaryFounding Day
Tuesday 9 March to Friday 12 MarchEid al-Fitr (expected), 4 days
Saturday 15 May to Tuesday 18 MayEid al-Adha (expected), 4 days
    Thursday 23 SeptemberNational Day

The private-sector days come from Article 24 of the Implementing Regulations of the Labor Law. The regulation says:

Eid al-Fitr holiday shall be 4 days effective from the day following the 29 th Ramadan, as per Um al-Qura calendar.Implementing Regulations of the Labor Law, Article 24

Eid al-Adha is 4 days from the day of Arafat, and National Day is one day. Founding Day became a yearly official holiday by Royal Order A/371 of 27 January 2022, for the public, private and non-profit sectors.

    Government sector: 24 days off

    Date (2027)Public holiday
Sunday 21 FebruaryFounding Day (bridge day)
    Monday 22 FebruaryFounding Day
Thursday 4 March to Saturday 13 MarchEid al-Fitr (expected), 10 days
Tuesday 11 May to Friday 21 MayEid al-Adha (expected), 11 days
    Thursday 23 SeptemberNational Day

Government employees follow Article 127 of the civil service human resources regulation. Eid al-Fitr runs from 25 Ramadan to the end of 5 Shawwal, and Eid al-Adha from 5 to the end of 15 Dhu al-Hijjah, so in 2027 the government Eid breaks are expected to be Thursday 4 March to Saturday 13 March 2027 and Tuesday 11 May to Friday 21 May 2027.

Weekend and weekend rules in Saudi Arabia

The official weekend is Friday and Saturday, and the working week runs from Sunday to Thursday. The calendar shades Friday and Saturday as the weekend and starts each week on Sunday, as Saudi calendars usually do. You can switch the first day to Monday.

    • Government: if National Day or Founding Day falls on a Friday, the Thursday before is the holiday; if it falls on a Saturday, the Sunday after is. In 2027 Founding Day is a Monday and National Day a Thursday, so neither moves.
    • Government bridge day: Article 128 says "If one working day falls between two official holidays, this day is deemed to be an official holiday", and the weekend counts as an official holiday. So in 2027 Sunday 21 February, between the weekend and Founding Day on Monday 22 February, is a government holiday too.
    • Private sector: the Labor Law makes Friday the weekly rest day, and most companies also close on Saturday. When a weekend day falls inside an Eid holiday, the worker gets the same number of days before or after the holiday. Your employer sets those days, so the calendar does not shade them.

    Why some dates say "expected"

Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha and the other Islamic holidays follow the Hijri (lunar) calendar, so they move about 11 days earlier each year. The calendar works out their 2027 dates from the Umm al-Qura calendar and marks them (expected). In Saudi Arabia the Supreme Court announces the start of Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr and the day of Arafat after the crescent moon is sighted, and the government then announces the days off.

Hijri dates follow the Umm al-Qura calendar; local moon sighting can differ by a day. The same note is printed at the foot of the PDF. Dates fixed by law, such as Founding Day on 22 February and National Day on 23 September, are not marked expected.

Saudi Arabia's own Umm al-Qura calendar is the one the calendar uses, and in 2026 the announced dates matched it: Ramadan 1447 began on Wednesday 18 February, Eid al-Fitr was Friday 20 March and Arafat Day was Tuesday 26 May.

    Questions and answers

How many public holidays does Saudi Arabia have in 2027?

Four: Founding Day, Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha and National Day. In the private sector that is 10 days off in all, and in the government sector 24 days, because government Eid breaks are longer.

When is Eid al-Fitr 2027 in Saudi Arabia?

Eid al-Fitr 1448 is expected on Tuesday 9 March 2027 by the Umm al-Qura calendar. The private-sector holiday is expected from Tuesday 9 March to Friday 12 March 2027. The Supreme Court confirms the date after the moon is sighted.

When is Eid al-Adha 2027 in Saudi Arabia?

Arafat Day is expected on Saturday 15 May 2027 and Eid al-Adha the day after. The private-sector holiday is expected from Saturday 15 May to Tuesday 18 May 2027.

Is Founding Day 2027 a holiday?

Yes. 22 February is Founding Day and an official holiday every year. In 2027 it is a Monday, Monday 22 February 2027.

What day is Saudi National Day 2027?

National Day is 23 September every year. In 2027 it is a Thursday, so with the weekend it gives a three-day break from Thursday to Saturday.

Does the calendar show Hijri dates?

Yes. Hijri dates from the Umm al-Qura calendar are on by default, in small figures in each day's box, with the Hijri months under each month name. Untick Hijri dates to hide them.

Which day does the week start on?

Sunday by default, as the Saudi working week starts on Sunday. You can switch it to Monday under Week starts on.

Is my calendar saved or uploaded anywhere?

No. The calendar and the PDF are made in your browser on your own device. Your options and title are not saved or sent.
