How to make your 2027 Qatar calendar
- Choose a layout. The whole year on one page, two pages, 4 or 3 months per page, or 12 monthly pages in landscape with large boxes to write in.
- Check the details. The calendar opens on A4 with the week starting on Sunday, Friday and Saturday shaded as the weekend, the Qatar public holidays shaded and listed under each month, and Hijri dates in each day's box. You can switch to Monday or Sunday, turn the Hijri dates off, pick another paper size (A3, A5, US Letter and more), one of seven color themes, black and white, large print or ink saver, and add a title.
- Select Download PDF. The PDF is made in your browser in a second or two. Nothing is uploaded, and your entries are not saved or sent.
The preview is drawn by the same layout as the PDF, so what you see is what prints. Print at Actual size (100%) so the margins stay true.
Qatar public holidays 2027
These are the official holidays of ministries, government bodies and public institutions, as the Amiri Diwan announces them. The two Eids follow the Hijri calendar, so their 2027 dates are expected dates from the Umm al-Qura calendar.
| Date (2027) | Public holiday |
|---|---|
| Tuesday 9 February | National Sports Day |
| Sunday 7 March to Friday 12 March | Eid al-Fitr (expected), 6 days |
| Saturday 15 May to Wednesday 19 May | Eid al-Adha (expected), 5 days |
| Saturday 18 December | National Day |
- National Sports Day is the second Tuesday of February. The Amiri Diwan describes it as the day "which annually falls on the second Tuesday of February".
- Eid al-Fitr runs from 28 Ramadan to 4 Shawwal. In 2026 that was Tuesday 17 to Monday 23 March, 7 days, because Ramadan had 30 days. By the Umm al-Qura calendar Ramadan 1448 has 29 days, so 6 days are expected in 2027.
- Eid al-Adha runs from 9 to 13 Dhu al-Hijjah, 5 days. In 2026 the Amiri Diwan announced that it "starts Tuesday, Dhu Al-Hijjah 9, 1447" and "ends Saturday, Dhu Al-Hijjah 13, 1447".
- National Day is 18 December. In 2027 it is a Saturday.
Still to come in 2026: National Day: Friday 18 December 2026. It falls on a Friday, and the Amiri Diwan had not announced the days off when we checked.
Government, banks and private sector
The dates above are for ministries, government bodies and public institutions. Other employers can have different days:
- Banks: the Governor of Qatar Central Bank sets the Eid holidays for the central bank, banks and financial institutions, so bank dates can differ.
- Private sector: private employers follow the Labour Law, so their days off can differ from the government's.
Weekend and working week in Qatar
Government offices work Sunday to Thursday, so the calendar shades Friday and Saturday as the weekend and starts each week on Sunday. You can switch the first day to Monday. When a holiday falls on the weekend, the Amiri Diwan can give the days off around it: National Day 2025 (Thursday 18 December) was announced with work resuming on Sunday 21 December.
Why some dates say "expected"
Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha and the other Islamic holidays follow the Hijri (lunar) calendar, so they move about 11 days earlier each year. The calendar works out their 2027 dates from the Umm al-Qura calendar and marks them (expected). In Qatar the Amiri Diwan announces the exact holiday dates for ministries and government bodies shortly before each Eid, once the moon has been sighted.
Hijri dates follow the Umm al-Qura calendar; local moon sighting can differ by a day. The same note is printed at the foot of the PDF. Dates fixed by law, such as National Sports Day and National Day on 18 December, are not marked expected.
