How to make a monthly calendar
- Pick the month and year. The page opens on next month. To print several months in a row, choose up to 12 under How many months; each month gets its own page.
- Pick the holidays. US federal holidays, UK bank holidays for England and Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland, or none for a blank calendar.
- Set the page. Landscape gives wide boxes for a wall or fridge; portrait gives tall boxes for a binder. Sunday or Monday start, ISO week numbers, a notes area with lines under the grid, a color theme, and an optional title.
- Select Download PDF. The PDF is made in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, and your entries are not saved or sent.
Each day is a large box with the date in the top corner, so there is room to write appointments, shifts, meals or homework. Holidays are shaded and named in their box, and listed under the grid.
Holidays from November 2026 to January 2027
These are the official public holidays the calendar shades in November 2026, December 2026 and January 2027; any other month you choose is shaded the same way. US holidays are shown on the day they are observed, as listed by OPM; UK bank holidays come from GOV.UK.
| Month | US federal holidays | England and Wales |
|---|---|---|
| November 2026 | Veterans Day (Wednesday, November 11); Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, November 26) | None |
| December 2026 | Christmas Day (Friday, December 25) | Christmas Day (Friday, December 25); Boxing Day (substitute day) (Monday, December 28) |
| January 2027 | New Year's Day (Friday, January 1); Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr. (Monday, January 18) | New Year's Day (Friday, January 1) |
Scotland and Northern Ireland have some different bank holidays: St Andrew's Day in Scotland (Monday, November 30); 2nd January (substitute day) in Scotland (Monday, January 4). Choose your nation under Holidays and the calendar shades the right days.
Why some months need six rows
A month covers five calendar rows unless it starts late in the week. A 31-day month that starts on the last or second-to-last day of the week, or a 30-day month that starts on the last day, spills into a sixth row. The calendar adds the sixth row only when it is needed, so the boxes stay as big as possible.
- 2026, weeks starting on Sunday: May and August need six rows.
- 2026, weeks starting on Monday: March, August and November need six rows.
February can need as few as four rows: a 28-day February that starts on the first day of the week fills exactly four rows. February 2027 starts on a Monday, so with a Monday start it fits in four rows. The next February 29 is in 2028, when February has 29 days.
Paper size and printing
Choose the paper in your printer: Letter, Legal, Tabloid or Half Letter in the US and Canada, or A4, A3 or A5 elsewhere. Each size is drawn natively with margins of at least half an inch (12.7 mm). In the print dialog, choose the same paper and set Scale to 100% or Actual size, not Fit to page.
For a wall calendar, Tabloid or A3 in landscape gives the biggest boxes. Half Letter and A5 in portrait fit a planner or binder, and the text is sized to stay readable.
Islamic dates on a monthly calendar
Tick Hijri dates to add the Islamic date in the corner of each box and the Hijri months beside the title. Your browser works them out with the Umm al-Qura calendar. Hijri dates follow the Umm al-Qura calendar; local moon sighting can differ by a day. The start of Ramadan and the two Eids are marked as expected dates; please follow your local mosque for the actual days.
Questions and answers
Can I print a blank monthly calendar?
Yes. Choose No holidays (blank) under Holidays and leave the title empty. The dates are still printed; only the holidays are left off.
Can I print several months at once?
Yes. Choose up to 12 under How many months. You get one PDF with one month on each page, starting with the month you picked.
Does the calendar include US holidays?
Yes, if you choose US federal holidays. The 11 federal holidays are shaded on the day they are observed, so a holiday on a Saturday is shown on the Friday before and one on a Sunday on the Monday after.
Can I show UK bank holidays?
Yes. Choose England and Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland. GOV.UK has published bank holidays up to the end of 2028; later months are printed without them until GOV.UK adds them.
Is there room for notes?
Yes. Tick Notes area under the grid for a ruled box at the foot of each page. Every day box is also left empty for writing.
Is my calendar saved or uploaded anywhere?
No. The calendar and the PDF are made in your browser on your own device. Your options and title are not saved or sent.
